Meet the CTI directors, tax experts tasked with navigating your journey towards tax solutions and savings.
Stephanie Banuelos leads CTI’s Credits & Incentives Practice with primary oversight of operations and overall practice development. She is focused on identifying, and maximizing federal, state and local tax credits that drive job creation, job training, capital investment and new business developmet.
Rose is the Director of Credits and Incentives for the Southeast area. She has over 14 years of experience in federal and state tax credits and has deep technical knowledge of many federal and state tax credit programs, including the Federal Work Opportunity Tax Credit, the Federal Empowerment Zone Employment Credit, various state enterprise zone credit programs and Georgia statutory tax credits.
Barry has spent more than 12 years advising clients on research and development (R&D) tax credit solutions. Barry is responsible for establishing CTI’s R&D tax credit service offering, including aiding in the development CTI’s proprietary software solution for R&D, facilitating best practices and project deliverables and conducting business development activities.
Eric is a Director in our Practice Development Group and focuses on business development, product development and audit controversy in all service areas.
He brings more than 20 years of state and local tax experience. Prior to coming to CTI, Eric spent 16 years as a tax director with PricewaterhouseCoopers (“PwC”) focusing on resolving California tax controversies for both California based and non-California based multinational companies, with the California Franchise Tax Board and Board of Equalization related to various issues, including settlements of research and development credits, enterprise zone credits, and other unique filing issues of more than a $100 million dollars.
Mark leads CTI’s national research and development (R&D) tax credit practice and is involved in all aspects of providing R&D services to his clients, including: conducting high-level R&D tax credit feasibility analyses, managing complex and comprehensive R&D tax credit studies, and defending R&D tax credit claims under IRS and state taxing authority examinations.
Educated as an attorney, Thomas is highly technical with a wide range of experience in calculating and substantiating research and development tax credits and working with clients in various industries ranging from electronics manufactures, drug manufacturers, and agribusiness to engineering services firms.
Kim Hopkins has led R&D and hiring tax credit and incentive engagements for over five years and has over ten years of industry experience. Kim has been involved in the development and support of studies from assessment through audit. For the R&D credits, she specializes in the manufacturing, aerospace, software, and bioscience industries.
Phillip has spent more than 14 years advising clients on Cost Segregation. He is responsible for establishing CTI’s Cost Segregation Service including developing and facilitating project deliverables and conducting business development activities for new construction/purchase, historical look-back study, and fixed asset review.
As one of the first CTI employees, Frances has held many key positions and has played an integral role in our diversification process. With more than 10 years in customer service and management, Frances’ proven adaptability has enabled her to manage projects for clients ranging from small start-ups to Fortune 500 companies.
