Internet privacy policy
This statement applies to the CTI II, LLC dba Corporate Tax Incentives (CTI) Web sites and services that display or link to this statement.
Personally identifiable information?
“Personally identifiable information” is information about you, such as name, address, e-mail address, user ID, credit card number, social security number, and so on. We collect only personally identifiable information that is specifically and voluntarily provided by visitors to CTI’swebsite. We do not share personal information with unaffiliated third parties, except as necessary for our legitimate professional and business needs, to carry out your requests, and/or as required or permitted by law or professional standards.
In order to prepare and to provide advice about tax matters, and/or to provide an audit defense service, we collect information about employee income, employment history, welfare history, military background, etc. Collectively, this information is known as tax credit information.
We do not sell or rent tax credit information to anyone.
We do not share tax credit information with anyone outside of CTI for their promotional or marketing use.
We do not share tax credit information inside of CTI for promotional or marketing use.
We retain copies of employees’ completed and filed tax records as required by federal and state regulations and in accordance with CTI’s Records and Information Management Policy. This information may also be used to perform analysis relating to your credit claims under our guarantees, or to provide you with a copy of your application for your convenience in the future.
We may use service companies on our behalf to perform services for you but these companies are not allowed to use your information for their own purposes.
We may access and/or disclose your information if it is necessary to comply with the law or legal process, to protect or defend CTI, or act in urgent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users of our tax credit services or members of the public. For example, we may be required to cooperate with regulators or law enforcement action such as a court order, subpoena or search warrant.
CTI works to protect your tax credit information from loss, misuse or unauthorized alteration by using industry-recognized security safeguards, coupled with carefully developed security procedures and practices. We use both internal and external resources to review our security procedures. Whenever we prompt you to transmit sensitive information, such as tax document or employee personal information, we support the encryption of your information as it is transmitted to us. Our employees are trained and required to safeguard your information.
CTI uses 128-bit SSL encryption to ensure that all communications between our partners and our internal system are secure. We apply bank-level data security standards. This includes encryption, auditing, logging, backups, and safe-guarding data. We store transaction information in a secure facility, on our own servers, protected by 24/7 security guards and biometric scanners.
We hack our own site. CTI engineering department runs thousands of tests on our own software to ensure security. We scan our ports, test for SQL injection, and protect against cross-site scripting. We also employ outside vendors to test and certify our systems.
All CTI employees pass financial and criminal background checks as a condition of employment.
There are several places throughout ctillc.com that may link to other websites that do not operate under ctillc.com’s privacy practices. When you link to other websites, CTI’s privacy practices no longer apply. We encourage visitors to review each site’s privacy policy before disclosing any personally identifiable information.
Some of the information we receive is not retained. For example, we usually do not keep mailing addresses for white papers. Contact information about visitors (such as information generated though registration for access to areas on the site) will be kept as long as the information is required to completely service the contact request or until a user requests that we delete that information. Mailing list information, discussion posts and email are kept for only the period of time considered reasonable to facilitate the visitor’s requests. Resumes are disposed of when they are either no longer under consideration, or are considered dated by our Human Resources departments.
As a policy, visitors are not required to register to gain access to areas of the CTI websites. In certain cases in the future, as your CTI website experience expands, we may require visitors to register in order to obtain a user-id and password for authentication and secure access to a transaction or certain business confidential or proprietary information services on membership websites.
Personally identifiable information provided to CTI through its website is provided voluntarily by visitors. Should visitors subsequently choose to unsubscribe from mailing lists or any registrations, we will provide instructions on the appropriate website area or in communications to our visitors; or a visitor may contact the webmaster of the appropriate site e.g., webmaster@ctillc.com.
Each visitor has the right of access to personal data they have submitted through the websites to CTI.
User updates of information should be handled by going back through the registration process. Inquiries about the accuracy of identifying information previously submitted to CTI through its website, or requests to have outdated information removed, should be directed to: webmaster@ctillc.com. CTI is committed to providing reasonable and practical access to visitors to allow them the opportunity to identify and correct any inaccuracies. When requested and practical, CTI will delete identifying information from current operational systems.
When personally identifiable information is retained, CTI assumes responsibility for keeping an accurate record of the information once a visitor has submitted and verified the data. CTI does not assume responsibility for verifying the ongoing accuracy of the content of personal information. When practically possible, if CTI is informed that any personal data collected through a website is no longer accurate, CTI will make appropriate corrections based on the updated information provided by the authenticated visitor.
CTI understands the importance of protecting children’s privacy especially in an online environment. The CTI sites covered by this privacy statement are not intentionally designed for or directed at children 13 years of age or younger. It is CTI’s policy never to knowingly collect or maintain information about anyone under the age of 13.
CTI reserves the right to modify or amend this Statement at any time. The effective date will be displayed at the beginning of this statement. To keep visitors informed, CTI will notify users of changes to our Privacy Statement by prominently identifying the alteration for a period of not less than two weeks on our global home page at http://www.ctillc.com.
