Darren brings more than 29 years of specialized tax solution experience to CTI. He dedicates his efforts towards improving the overall operations and processes of the practice to ensure that we provide unparalleled service to CTI partners.
As a Principal, Darren embraces his leadership role with patience and insight, guiding the CTI family to identify, qualify, and negotiate various tax-related incentives.
Many of the key relationships Darren relies upon today he forged during his time with the Franchise Tax Board as an auditor. He also served as the West Region Business Incentives Leader for Ernst & Young’s State and Local Tax Practice where his garnering of assorted tax incentives resulted in millions of dollars in financial savings for Fortune 100 companies.
Darren also holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Sacramento State, a master’s degree in taxation from Golden Gate University, and is a licensed CPA in the State of California.
Today, he works closely with his contacts at various state agencies and has helped our clients realize significant benefits in areas such as investment and job-creation credits, renewable energy benefits, sales and use tax abatements, enterprise zone tax credits, and other notable incentives.
When Darren isn’t “building a better mousetrap” to achieve the highest level of excellence for CTI, you may find him trail-setting, spending time with his parents, or immersed in his love of marine life. He also relishes soaking up the radiant California weather and the soothing beaches of Hawaii.
