Karen is a tax and incentives and site selection expert with over 30 years of experience helping global organizations identify ideal locations across the globe and secure financial and economic benefits from governmental organizations for a wide range of qualifying activities. Over her career, Karen has worked with clients in North America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia Pacific, and has had in-country roles in the US, Poland, and Belgium.
Prior to joining CTI, Karen worked at Duff & Phelps launching their global Site Selection and Incentives Advisory Practice where she worked with clients to identify R&D, investment, job creation and sustainability incentives, while also sharing her thought leadership with speaking engagements at the Institute of Professionals in Taxation (IPT), Area Development, and Tax Executives Institute and various other economic development forums. Prior to Duff & Phelps, Karen built and led global discretionary advisory teams as a Partner with Ernst & Young. She was sought after to develop efficient internal incentives processes for clients and shaped site selection strategies across three continents.
Karen is a Certified Public Accountant, committee member of the IPT Credits and Symposium, and published industry authority on the topic of site selection and incentives. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Texas A&M Commerce and an MBA from Southern Methodist University.
