Robin is a grant funding expert with over 16 years’ experience of collaborative R&D projects with an impressive track record of >80% success rate within UK funding programmes (Innovate UK) securing in excess of £5m for UK clients. Robin is also an experienced EC proposal writer with >€50 million of funding for clients over the past 5 years for European clients. Over his career, Robin has worked with some of Europe’s leading companies, research technology organisations and academic institutes within the field of advanced materials, high value manufacturing, renewable energy technology, biobased industries and sustainability with a focus on recyclability and valorisation of waste.
Prior to joining CTI, Robin set up Iconiq Innovation Ltd in 2013 where he specialised in collaborative R&D grant funding programmes within Horizon 2020 and latterly into Horizon Europe (€95.5bn funding programme over 7 years) as well as national funding programmes such as Innovate UK. Prior to Iconiq Innovation, Robin has held various grant funding consultancy roles within Pera Technology within the Polymers and Nanotechnology practices before moving to the Northern European business covering Norway, Sweden, Finland and Estonia and then onto the Paint Research Association as Innovation manager to assist the members (world’s leading coatings manufacturers) with grant applications.
Throughout his career as successful grant writer, Robin has also become an experienced EC evaluator and an experience trainer of junior and senior grant writers.
Robin holds a PhD in Polymer Chemistry and Nanotechnology from the University of Warwick, UK and is a published author on the topic of polymer degradation and nanotechnology and in the field of innovation strategies. Robin is also a member of the Royal Society of Chemistry.
